Montreal artist, Jacques Deshaies virtual exhibition : Uppsala, The Pleasure Principle - The collection.
This is an exercise in art/science/pleasure communication, presented by Jacques Deshaies, the 56 year old art visionary icon doing modern-edge, science-based conceptually driven art.

The concept

Photos of houses of Uppsala, Sweden noticeable for their unique colors + "American Scientist" magazine of July/August 2002, page 357 (images of protein folds) + inspiration and vision of this artist = a collection of paintings titled : Uppsala, the Pleasure Principle.

The story

Jacques Deshaies maintains throughout this new serie of paintings, the fine memories of a voyage in Uppsala, winter 2003. With his daugther, Natasha and his son, Charlie, allowing the pleasure principle, influenced by the color of the houses, to infiltrate his palette with delicious results : tints of old rose, custard, apricot, sea green, burnt sienna, yellow ocre, red oxide, prussian blue, cerulean blue, are the background of a serie of 34 representations of proteins from the "American Scientist" magazine.

The exhibition

This new collection of paintings is presented at ATCG Gallery in Montreal and in a neo-conceptual way ; that is to say the exhibition itself is happening worldwide through the internet, only on our website. Visit the artist's web site www.JacquesDeshaies.com. Each painting is delivered worldwide by express courier and is accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.

Sharing the blessings of art and science universally.
