Jacques Deshaies, the artist who brought us Transgenic Corn with a Fish Head, is at it again. Now it is The Neo-Rupestrian Odyssey of the Human Genome Timeline. Deshaies who says genome research provides a "new aesthetic platform" for artists, uses DNA Double Helix and genetically modified organisms as his philosophical/communication medium of choice.
Deshaies, has been working for the past ten years on the interplay between art and science, and in science's role as a cultural force. He is not concerned about scienctific literacy, but about artistic literacy. He says that his art is not about subjectivity, even if the beauty part is subjective. His Genomist/Proteomist art concerns Knowledge.
